Manuscript Instructions, Terms and Conditions...
Before sending a manuscript we suggest that you send yourself a 'Poor Man's Copyright' via USPS mail and explain to the cashier that it must be stamped on all seams of the envelope - NEVER OPEN THIS ENVELOPE. This will allow you to have your work edited much sooner than registering a formal Copyright at the U.S. Government 'Library of Congress'. A formal copyright through the Library of Congress is expected and advised to all potential clients of Light in the Dark, for your own protection of a manuscript becoming lost, stolen or exposed to persons other than intended. Light in the Dark Publishing, or any of its subsidiaries, owners, employees, or family of employees or owner take no responsibility for lost or stolen manuscripts, period. If these precautions listed herein have been made by the original author there should be no problems for you, if not, then you have no recourse with us. There are no exceptions to this rule. Please include a photo of your Poor Man's Copyright or formal Library Of Congress Copyright copy with your manuscript for both your protection, and ours.
There is no guarantee when we will be able to review your manuscript at all, or within a specific timeline. Reviewing any new manuscripts is completely dependent upon current workload at LIDP. There is no guarantee that we will help you to publish a manuscript. There is no guarantee that we will choose to edit, help with artwork, graphics, and/or technical support for the production of your manuscripts, or other publishing needs. Please be aware of this and do not single us out as the only Publishing company that you query. We are looking for manuscripts of a particular quality to put our name on and will not publish every single document that we receive. Light in the Dark Publishing is not in this business solely for profit, we are in this business to help individuals to produce quality manuscripts. We wish to help our clients, so that their voices may be heard by way of good editing and other necessary production tasks, to insure that this happen. Manuscripts that will require an overabundance of editing time, to the extent where most of it must be re-written, will be declined. Unfortunately, we simply edit, we do not ghost write, or write your books for you. For struggling writers we do suggest a few college courses to help you with your APA, grammar and editing skills before you pass them onto us. Technical writing or academic writing must include citations and references per APA. Plagiarized documents will be immediately rejected.
You may mail manuscripts to the physical address below, and also electronic files to our email address here:
